Objective
Knowledge: PhD students are provided thematic knowledge which focuses deeply on modern meteorology. Through these thematic subjects, the capacity and expertise in scientific research of PhD students will be improved, so that they can access, develop and solve new topics related to the content of their thesis.
Skills: PhD students are equipped with the skills of analysis, synthesis and evaluation. They are also equipped with the skills of entirely self-solving a problem of practical meteorology.
Capacity: After graduation, students can become key experts in the field of meteorology, are capable of working creatively in designing and implementing various research, teaching and operational tasks in Meteorology.
Research: PhD graduates can independently conduct researches in the following main directions:
- Modelling of atmospheric processes
- Physical atmospheric processes
- Short, medium and longterm weather forecast.
a. Minimum degree and publication list requirements:
- A master degree in meteorology or in an appropriate specialty close to meteorology.
- Applicants hold a master degree in different field and hold an undergraduate degree in meteorology or in an appropriate specialty close to meteorology. In this case, applicants have to take examination as a non-master-degree holder and are required to have at least one published paper inscientific journals or scientific conference proceedings prior to the application time.
- Applicants hold an undergraduate degree in meteorology or relevant specialty, with at least good grade and at least one published paper in scientific journals or scientific conference proceedings prior to the application time.
- Applicants hold an undergraduate degree in meteorology or relevant specialty, with at least above-average grade and at least two published papers in scientific journals or scientific conference proceedings prior to the application time.
The content of the above papers must be consistent with the applied research direction.
b. Working experience requirements
Applicants are required to have at least 2 years (24 months) of working experiences in the field related to Meteorology since their bachelor graduation, except the cases of transferring students.
